Harmony Singers of Wayne
Harmony Singers is a non-profit professionally directed community chorus whose objective is to bring together people who love to sing and audiences who are seeking low-cost, quality local entertainment. It was founded in 1965 by a small group of choral music lovers who first met as choristers in the Packanack section of Wayne. Enthusiastic acceptance by singers and audience alike has enabled us to continue for over 40 years.
The singers, about 40 men and women, vary in age and musical abilities. All voice parts are represented: Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass.
Performances have ranged from formal concerts at local churches or the "Y' to outdoor performances at the Preakness Shopping Center. Community outreach concerts have included libraries, senior citizen centers, and participation in the Wayne Interfaith Thanksgiving Service.
Our December concert usually features holiday and seasonal music, while the May concerts offer a mixture of classical, folk, Broadway tunes, and spirituals. Occasionally, our concerts include guest soloists or musicians.
